A Cohesive-frictional interface model subjected to mixed complex loading paths

The paper presents a cohesive-frictional interface model based on surface damage mechanics. The proposed model is developed under the assumption that the fracture energies in mode I and in mode II are different values, as shown by several experimental evidences. At difference with the most spread available interface models, only one isotropic interface internalvariable is adopted for the constitutive model. The interface constitutive model is developed in a Thermodynamic consistent framework with an Helmholtz free energy potential and the fulfillment of the thermodynamic principles is obtained enforcing the Clausius-Duhem inequality. Frictional effect in mode II delamination: Experimental test and numerical simulation

Abstract The present paper proposes an experimental and a numerical analysis of the frictional effect on the mode II delamination. Frictional stresses between the crack edges can absorb and dissipate significant energy contributions in the delamination zones, especially under cyclic loading conditions. The experimental tests are performed for a set of unidirectional End-Notched Flexure (ENF) composite specimens, which are subjected to fatigue loading law with increasing mean value. AbstractIn the framework of numerical analysis of joined bodies, the present paper is devoted to the constitutive modeling, via an interface kinematic formulation, of mechanical behaviour of internal adhesive layers. The proposed interface constitutive model couples a cohesive behaviour, based on the damage mechanics theory, with a frictional one, defined in a non-associative plasticity framework. Constitutive Numerical Model of FRCM Strips Under Traction

In this paper, the tensile behavior of Fiber Reinforced Cementitious Matrix (FRCM) strips is investigated through Finite Element (FE) models. The most adopted numerical modeling approaches for the simulation of the fiber-matrix interface law are described. Among them, the cohesive model is then used for the generation of FE models which are able to simulate the response under traction of FRCM strips tested in laboratory whose results are available in the technical literature. Non associative damage interface model for mixed mode delamination and frictional contact

Abstract The present paper proposes a new interface constitutive model based on the non-associative damage mechanics and frictional plasticity. The model is developed in a thermodynamically consistent framework, with three independent damage variables. The non associative flow rules drive the concurrent evolution of the three damage variables. The interface model provides two independent values for the mode I fracture energy and the mode II fracture energy and it is able to accurately reproduce arbitrary mixed mode fracture conditions.
